Marion County Sheriff Gregg Alexander reports that on 8/6/2024 at approximately 4:45 pm, Deputy's and First Responders were called out to an unresponsive person located at a residence on Flintridge Lane in Flippin. A witness told deputies they drove by the property and saw a male slumped over the steering wheel of a tractor and stopped to check on him. The witness stated the male was unresponsive, prompting the witness to call 911 for assistance. The Marion County Coroner responded and pronounced the male dead at the scene.

The victim was identified as MARK B. HERMANN (68 YOA, W/M), of Flippin. A family member told deputies Mr. Hermann left his residence around noon to do some work on his road. The family member stated it was not unusual for HERMANN to stay out and work all day, and that HERMANN had previously suffered from a heat stroke. The temperature on the afternoon of the incident was reported to be approximately 100 degrees.
