Marion County Sheriff Gregg Alexander reports that on 09/01/24, at approximately 6:08P, Deputies responded to a residence on Marion County (MC) Road 6018 after receiving a call about a male who was not breathing and was unresponsive. A Deputy and an Investigator arrived at the scene and met with first responders who identified the unresponsive male as MICHAEL SMYTH, 74 YOA. The Investigator learned SMYTH had suffered from several extensive health issues over the past several years. A family member told Deputies they checked on SMYTH at different times during the day and found him unresponsive in the early evening hours and contacted EMS. The Marion County Coroner responded to the scene and took possession of the body. First Responders from Baxter Health and the Yellville Volunteer Fire Department also responded to the scene.

Sheriff Alexander stated they did not suspect any foul play and believed SMYTH died as the result of natural causes.
