Sheriff Gregg Alexander reports that deputies conducted their third firearms training session for 2024 on September 17th and 18th at the Twin Lakes Gun Club. Deputies previously completed their annual qualification required by the Commission on Law Enforcement Standards and Training (CLEST) as well as a nighttime fire and ballistic shield training courses. Alexander said this week's training consisted of additional training with the ballistic shields as well as a move and shoot course designed to improve the ability of the deputies to shoot while moving forward and backwards while increasing their heart rates. Alexander stated they plan to finish the year with a final quarterly shoot before the end of the year.
